Video Assist 3.1 and Blackmagic RAW 1.7 software updates add support for recording Blackmagic RAW on Video Assist 7” 12G and 5” 12G with popular cameras such as Panasonic EVA1 and Canon C300 MK II. Recording RAW eliminates the problems associated with camera formats like H.264, which are highly compressed resulting in noise and processing artifacts. It also saves camera settings and digital slate information as metadata, giving you greater control of exposure and color during editing. Blackmagic RAW files are also small and fast to use making them easy to work with.
Blackmagic RAW 1.5 adds a new cross platform version of Blackmagic RAW Speed Test for Mac, Windows and Linux. It also adds new Blackmagic RAW Plugins for Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer on Mac and Windows enabling greater support for editing software in Blackmagic RAW 1.5. Now you can edit Blackmagic RAW natively and avoid transcoding and proxy workflows.
