LANC is a universal standard for controlling various camera lenses and accessories that is supported by many equipment manufacturers. The Blackmagic Studio Camera includes an industry standard 2.5mm LANC input jack so you can connect external lens controllers for your active MFT lenses. That means, depending on your lens, you could get remote control over things like iris, focus and zoom.
Now you don’t need to carry around a portable mixer or phantom power supply! The built in phantom power of the Blackmagic Studio Camera allows you to connect condenser microphones that normally require a separate DC power supply, boom mics, presenter mics, shotgun mics and more! The Blackmagic Studio Camera features 2 XLR microphone inputs with phantom power so you can use virtually any professional microphone without additional equipment.
Attach a teleprompter to your Blackmagic Studio Camera for live news programs, talk shows, or magazine style shows that require the speaker to look at the camera while reading. You can use broadcast quality screen and mirror rigs or, for smaller setups, there are lightweight teleprompters that use tablet computers and iPads!
The base of the Blackmagic Studio Camera has two mounting points for attaching it to professional tripods and broadcast studio pedastals. Big tripods with spreaders allow you to quickly set up for outside broadcast shoots, while pedestals are ideal for smooth camera operation in the studio.
The Blackmagic Studio Camera features mounting points for third party batteries as well as a standard 4-pin broadcast power connector for external 12V ‑ 24V power supplies. When you’re in the studio, just plug it into AC mains power for all day shooting. When you need to move your Blackmagic Studio Camera to a location that doesn’t have power, simply connect an external battery!
